Safe Church

Immanuel and our Diocese, Churches for the Sake of Others, are committed to safeguarding the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of everyone in our care. As Christ has commanded us, we do everything in our power to prevent harm coming to any person and to develop a culture of joyful care, concern, and accountability.

As a church we have adopted robust policies for the protection of children and youth and policies protecting against abuse and sexual harassment of any person in our congregation. All volunteers submit to background checks and ministry training. All clergy and staff also receive full background checks and ministry training, as well as ongoing professional development in the areas of spiritual abuse, sexual harassment, and trauma-informed care.

We have a whistleblower policy that allows anyone who experiences harassment, abuse, or any other harm occurring in a church setting to report it. If you would like to file a report, you may contact our Rector, Jonathan Warren Pagán, or our Senior Warden, Matt Erickson. If you would prefer outside assistance, please contact our C4SO Diocesan Safety, Response, and Care Team.
