Prayer Community

At Immanuel, we are a community constituted and sustained by prayer. Prayer is one of the most essential habits of the Christian life and of our life together as Immanuel. One of the key ways we embrace the reality of “God with us” is by being open, attentive, and available to God in prayer.

Our Immanuel Prayer Communities gather twice a month during the weeks following the first and third Sundays. Each group will share a meal and pray together in a rhythm that helps keep prayer as one of the centering practices of our life together. Everyone is invited to participate, though only some of the groups can accommodate younger children. 

We currently have five groups meeting throughout the South Austin area:

Kyle/Buda — Mondays at 7pm.
Hosted and led by Mtr. Kep Howk and Nick Howk

South Austin — Tuesdays at 6pm.
Hosted by Melissa and Tyler Holland
Led by Fr. Kester Smith
This group can accommodate younger children.

Southwest Austin — Tuesdays at 6pm.
Hosted by Cheyenne and Matt Erickson
Led by Erica Thompson and Emily Wismer
This group can accommodate younger children.

Southeast Austin — Thursdays at 6:30pm.
Hosted by Holley and Droo Higgins
Led by Alexa and Brad Harris and Fr. Eric Chin

South Austin — Thursdays at 6:00pm.
Hosted by Eric and Kelsie Dehart
Led by Fr. Jonathan.
This group can accommodate younger children.
