Our Clergy
Rector, Jonathan Warren Pagán
Jonathan Warren Pagán is the planter and Rector of Immanuel Anglican Church. He is an avid reader and enjoys cycling whenever time allows. He has a Ph.D. in Church History from Vanderbilt and loves to open the treasures of scripture and church history in his preaching and teaching. He is married to Tish Harrison Warren, a writer and fellow Anglican priest, with whom he has three children.
Assisting Priest, Dyan “Kep” Howk
Mother Kep is an ordained Anglican Priest and a connoisseur of Chai Tea Lattes. Before becoming a priest Kep was an LPGA golf pro and later a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned a Masters of Divinity degree at Azusa Pacific University and has assisted in several Anglican churches before coming to Immanuel. Kep is passionate about helping people experience wholeness in life by God's Spirit working in them. She is married to Nick Howk, a Pastoral Counselor and they live in Kyle with one dog, Rascal.
Artist-in-Residence, Tish Harrison Warren
Tish Harrison Warren is the author of several books, including Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life and Prayer in the Night: For Those Who Work, or Watch, or Weep. She formerly wrote a weekly newsletter for The New York Times, which focused on faith in public discourse and private life. Her articles and essays have appeared in Christianity Today, Comment Magazine, The Point Magazine, Religion News Service and elsewhere. Tish has worked in various churches and Christian non-profits for over two decades, serving as a parish priest, a campus minister, and with those affected by poverty and addiction. She and her husband Jonathan have three children.
Deacon and Curate, Kester Smith
Kester was born in Michigan, raised in Chicago, and finished high school in San Antonio, TX. He received a B.S. in Bible and an M.Div from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. ACU was also where he met his wife, Rachel, a licensed speech therapist who works in pediatric home health. Kester was raised in the Churches of Christ and served as a Church of Christ pastor for almost 25 years. He has worked in children’s, youth, and campus ministry, and has been a chaplain, a church-planter, a professor, a preacher and a senior pastor. In 2020, Kester and his family left the Churches of Christ to join the Anglican Church, and were confirmed in 2021. Kester enjoys books, music, and movies and has performed as a stand-up comic and the lead singer of various bands and ensembles. Kester and Rachel have a son, Harry, who is a Music Composition major in the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College.
Deacon and Curate, Eric Chin
Eric is a native Texan and Austinite who works as an engineering leader at a cybersecurity software company. Since his childhood, he’s loved the local church and has enjoyed serving in various ministry contexts. He’s currently pursuing formation in parish ministry and through theological education at Nashotah House Theological Seminary. When he isn’t working or studying, he enjoys spending time with his friends, rock climbing, and reading.
LAY MINISTERS
Subdeacon, Pamela “Pam” Purdin
Pamela “Pam” Purdin is a commissioned Subdeacon at Immanuel Anglican Church. Her vocation and joy is to “serve the servants of God” by providing material and personal support for the Church’s ministers, lay leaders, and parishioners.
Pam spent 30 years in the Church of Christ denomination developing a strong foundation in the God’s Word and scripture. She later served as a certified lay pastor in the Presbyterian (PCUSA) church, before being confirmed in the ACNA in the diocese of C4SO.
When not involved in church projects, Pam enjoys cooking, reading and visiting zoos to see animals, especially giant pandas. She, and others, live in a small Christian community called the Priory of EarthHaven at Kildare, along with 3 cats.
